We need energy for our prosperity and well-being; to live, live and work. Society could not develop as it does today without energy. That is why it is important that everyone has access to energy, the United Nations believes. One in five people currently do not have access to energy. But at the same time, energy is also one of the biggest problems of this century. We get too much energy from coal, oil and gas. These resources run out sometime and the fuel causes climate change. At least 60 percent of greenhouse gas emissions are caused by energy.
By 2030, everyone should have access to affordable, reliable and sustainable energy. We can get renewable energy from natural sources such as water, wind and sun. To achieve this goal, these sources must be better explored, as well as the technology with which we can generate renewable energy. To make modern and sustainable energy accessible in developing countries as well, we must work to improve infrastructure and technological advances.
