Internship Description

Partos seeks an enthusiastic communications intern (x,m,v) who is eager to contribute to a just and sustainable world.

Introduction: We are we?

Partos is the trade association for international cooperation. Our members consist of development organizations working in the fields of poverty reduction, emergency relief, human rights and sustainable development. We are committed to serving their interests so that they can work as best they can for a just and sustainable world. With a small team of 12 employees, You will quickly get to know everyone and there is plenty of room for your input. What can you do within our communications team? 

As an internCommunication & Imagingsupport you in daily communication work, but you will also be given responsibility for your own projects. The focus is on communicating the impact and results of development cooperation, sharing knowledge within the sector and stimulating cooperation in the field of communication. There is also the opportunity to conduct your own research.

What will you do? 

  • You turn the results of our work and our members into creative and engaging content. You will do this for our website, social media and newsletters.
  • You will help think about interesting speakers, topics and formats that we can use when organizing our events, such as ourCollege Tours and Community of Practice.
  • You will help organize (online) events, workshops and presentations. You are also present at the events of communication and imaging, so you have a lot of contact with our members and their staff. One of these events was thePartos Innovation Festival 2023!
  • You will help think about how to improve our communication processes. We brainstorm on how to share industry knowledge and experiences in innovative and inspiring ways.
  • You will also collaborate on projects around creating support for development cooperation and inclusive communication.
  • You support the teams 'Advocacy & Policy Advocacy' and'Learning & Innovation' in external communications. So you also work with the other colleagues!
  • You will have the freedom to initiate work yourself. Do you have a good idea in the field of communication? Then grab your chance and submit it!

Do you recognize yourself in this?

We are looking for a college student, Bachelor's or Master's student (m/f/x) who:   

  • Studying in the field of communication, journalism, multimedia or online marketing. Another appropriate course such as "international development studies," for example, is also allowed.
  • Interested in international cooperation;
  • Enthusiastic and can write creatively;
  • Is a creative thinker and can put this into creating content for our publications, website and social media;
  • Has a good command of the Dutch and English languages;
  • Can work independently and take initiative;
  • It would be great if you have experience as an administrator of a Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter account for an organization, company or association.

Finally, what do you get from us in return? 

  • It is important to us that you learn from your internship. Therefore, we set a number of learning objectives in advance. You will be supervised by a communications officer and we will meet regularly to discuss progress and learning goals.
  • A small-scale work environment with room for your personal input and opportunity to customize your internship according to your area of interest.
  • As a trade association, Partos offers a good opportunity to get to know the Dutch development sector. You do this not only from the office in Amsterdam, but also by cooperating and having meetings with colleagues within the development sector.
  • The opportunity to participate yourself in interesting events that connect to work and knowledge sharing within the development sector.
  • Hybrid working is well established by now. You work partly from home, and partly in the office.
  • An internship stipend of 450 euros based on 36 hours per week. Per month, assuming 32 hours of availability, that works out to about 420 euros per month. 

Period  
The internship period will be for a minimum of 5 months, and you will preferably start in February 2024. You will be available four days (32 hours) per week.

Certificate of Good Conduct 

To complete an internship with us, an Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) necessary. You apply for the VOG through Partos, and we will reimburse the cost.

    • On a daily basis, you will work on creating creative content to properly translate the results of the work of Partos and its members. You will do this for our website, social media and newsletters. 
    • You will think about interesting speakers, topics and formats that we can use when organizing our events in the field of communication and imaging, such as our College Tours and meetings around Inclusive Communication.
    • You will help organize (online) events, workshops and presentations. You will also be present at the events of communication and imaging, so you will have a lot of contact with our members and its employees. One of these events, for example, is the Partos Innovation Festival on October 13. Look here for the overview of previous year!
    • Together with the communications team, you will think about how to improve our communication processes. We brainstorm on how to share knowledge and experiences in the sector in innovative and inspiring ways. 
    • You will also work with your communication colleagues on projects around creating support for development cooperation and inclusive communication. 
    • You support the teams 'Advocacy & Policy Advocacy' and 'Learning & Innovation' in external communications. So you also work with the other colleagues!
