Charity & Operations Intern 

Are you a budding do-gooder with an interest in operations and looking for an internship? Then read on!

Doing good is in our nature. When we see poverty or effects of climate change, we want to do something! And yet we often do less than we would like. That's why The Social Handshake makes doing good easy and more impactful!

We already help more than 100 companies and 3,000 employees who want to make more of an impact. Among other things, we offer Charity Gift Cards and LoonGift. With LoonGift you can support charities directly from your salary, with tax benefits. Moreover, many employers double the donations. For example, it costs 1 euro while a charity receives 3.40 euros! 

The Social Handshake is a Social Fintech Startup. We are informal, and impact comes first! The more support for charities like Donate Effectively, UNICEF, Justdiggit, WarChild or Free a Girl, the better. In this way, together with employers, employees and charities, we make the world more sustainable and social. Will you join us?

The Challenge

• You will liaise with charities and help set up and roll out new features related to our charity portfolio
• You support the screening of charities for efficiency, effectiveness and transparency, among other things
• You will support the team in the operational side of LoonGift, including preparing invoices and payment requests for employers offering LoonGift
• You liaise with employers offering LoonGift on LoonGift mutations, invoices and related issues
• You work closely with the team to make The Social Handshake and LoonGift bigger in the Netherlands; you like to think about this. If you have a good idea, let's go!

Who are we looking for:

• You are eager to make an impact and have an affinity for social entrepreneurship
• You are proactive, know how to get things done and work well together
• You are good at organizing, structuring and working independently
• You have HBO or WO working and thinking level
• You have a fluent command of Dutch and English in word and writing
• You have an excellent sense of numbers
• You like to make/optimize processes more efficient
• You are comfortable with Excel
• You enjoy supporting other departments in addition to this role

• Een stageperiode van 4-6 maanden, met een voorkeur voor 6 maanden. De startdatum is 3 februari 2025, maar kan overlegd worden.
• An internship fee based on full-time participation is €400 per month (4 days per week is also possible)
