INTERN CSR RISK CHECKER (FALL 2023)

Internship Description

Do you want to help entrepreneurs do business responsibly abroad? And are you looking for a fun and challenging internship starting in August/September 2023? An internship in which on the one hand you point out possible problems in the supply chain to companies, but in which you also write about solutions? Then you might be the new intern for the CSR Risk Checker at MVO Netherlands.

Especially with more and more legislation coming in, there is a lot coming at companies. It is therefore important that companies are well prepared. MVO Nederland has developed the MVO Risico Checker, a website that provides a free overview of important CSR risks and recommendations for your product and country of operation. Is there child labor there? How do you affect the availability of drinking water near a production site? Are there conflicts? As an intern, one of your main tasks is to make those CSR risks transparent to companies as a basis for making their international supply chains more sustainable. Do the check yourself To experience the CSR Risk Checker.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
You will dedicate your internship to making international trade chains more sustainable. You'll maintain the CSR Risk Checker and update the data. And that's important, considering the more than 25,000 unique visitors per year and more than 6,000 risks and advices in three different languages. A huge amount of information, where we could really use your help. Below your main activities:

  • You do source research on potential risks by country and product and any related advice;
  • you check reports from research organizations, NGOs and news websites so that risks and advice are always up to date;
  • You write texts for entrepreneurs in English and Dutch;
  • You communicate about the tool through social media, blogs and other communication tools;
  • You give presentations on the tool to internal and external stakeholders;
  • You actively engage with users of the tool to hear what could be improved;
  • but you think about improvements yourself;
  • and assists with other work within the team.

WHO ARE YOU?
As an intern, you are primarily a valuable addition to our team. You have a university background with a relevant degree in sustainability, international relations, environment, social sciences or conflict studies. You have a good understanding of international CSR issues, have an affinity with (SME) companies and are good at translating sustainability issues into practical texts for entrepreneurs. Experience with online writing and tools is a plus. We know that a diverse team brings out the best in each other. We love it if you can contribute to that.
